Mid-America Antique Airplane Group Annual Old Settlers Fly-In Schedule of Events
Join us in keeping alive the spirit and enthusiasm of the early pioners of aviation! Bring a friend and enjoy a day of fun and flying!
Friday, August 8th
- 5:30 pm - Happy Hour! Free beer and cocktails for MAAG members, guests and pilots.
- 6:30 pm - Hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill for everyone.
- 8:30 pm - Aviation movie will be shown on the 8ft.X10ft. big screen.
Saturday, August 9th
- 7:30-10:00 AM - Fly-in breakfast. (Donations accepted)
- 9:30 AM: Pilot Briefing for Grand Parade Fly Over
- 10:00 AM : Fly-Over to Kick Off Old Settlers Grand Parade
- 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Aircraft Judging
- 11:00 AM: Lunch (Sloppy Joe's, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks) @ the concession
- 1:00 PM: Awards Ceremony
Pilot Briefing
- Runway 17/35 which is 150' wide will be divided to allow for back taxiing. The east side will be the active runway.
- Monitor 122.9
- Information about Wiebe Airfield/Halstead (SN05) can be found at AirNav including info about hotels in the Newton, KS area.
- If you will be here Friday and need transportation to your hotel please contact: Don Wiebe or 316-835-2417 and arrangements will be made.
- Transportation will be provided into Halstead for the Old Settlers Celebration events.
