Halstead's 115th Old Settlers A Great Success! As with past Old Settlers Celebrations, Old Settlers buttons were required to attend most Old Settlers events, and the button's numbers were registered to win prizes and entitled the wearer to a free barbecue lunchl at Riverside Park on Saturday, Aug. 11. Prize drawings were held each week for six weeks before the Celebration. Buttons could be registered for these weekly drawings at most local Halstead merchants.

There was a shuttle system in 2002 to resolve the issue with Old Settlers events being located all across town. The shuttle stopped at various locations every 20-30 minutes Friday evening and Saturday during the day.
